Computer Engineer, GS-0854-13/14. Great organization. Interesting

Summary of Duties:
Tests and integrates complex distributed software systems over a range
of networks. Performs all range of testing from bench-level, to
laboratory network level, to full blown operational end-to-end
integration testing for complete systems. Transitions developmental
technology into operations phase before systems are cutover to
operational agencies. Provides expert, highly authoritative engineering
advice and guidance on assigned areas to personnel throughout the
Program Office, associated DoD activities, and the Intelligence
Community. Coordinates and reviews technical proposals and reports and
provides recommendations.
How You Will Be Evaluated:
You will be evaluated to determine if you meet the minimum
qualifications required; and on the extent to which your application
shows that you possess the knowledges, skills, and abilities associated
with this position as defined below. When describing your knowledges,
skills, and abilities, please be sure to give examples and explain how
often you used these skills, the complexity of the knowledge you
possessed, the level of the people you interacted with, the sensitivity
of the issues you handled, etc.
1. Mastery of advanced concepts, principles, theories, practices, and
techniques of computer engineering and a practical knowledge of
related scientific and engineering disciplines.
2. Mastery of all aspects of test and evaluation in the areas of
software testing, protocol testing, distributed systems testing,
and embedded systems testing. Also useful would be a background
in automated testing, test script languages, and hands on
knowledge of design and implementation of networks and
telecommunication infrastructure.
3. Ability to work in a dynamic environment involving emerging
technology or changing requirements and also having the ability to
use experienced judgment to solve a variety of highly complex
technical problems.
4. Ability to work independently in the conception, development,
coordination, and management of complex projects and programs to
successful completion.
5. Knowledge of DoD R&D acquisition regulations and procedures and
experience in overseeing technical contracts.
6. Ability to demonstrate management and leadership potential:
prepare oral and written briefings, reports, and presentations
that articulate requirements, potential technical solutions, and
provide concise recommentations to decision-makers; establish and
maintain relationships with key individuals, agencies, and
laboratories within DoD and other U.S. Government Departments and
Agencies, including senior levels of DoD management and industry.
