IBM Thinkpad T23
Fedora Core 4, kernel: 2.6.14-1.1637_FC4
Linksys WPC54Gv2 wifi card
ndiswrapper 1.5

I've had wifi working on my notebook for several weeks. Last night, I went to
bed and forgot to shut down. APM put it in some kind of hibernation state
that it would not wake up from the next morning, so I had to force it to shut
down by holding down the power button. When I rebooted, eth1 (the wifi nic)
would not come back up.

I tried to activate it using neat, I tried "system network restart", and I
tried "ifup eth1." In all cases I receive the "No Link Present. Check
cable?" error messages. I've tried specifying the ESSID, and I've
tried Auto. I've
deleted and reinstalled the wireless interface from neat. I've removed
and reinstalled
ndiswrapper, but it doesn't make a difference.

If I run "iwlist eth1 scan" it gives the correct information for my wireless
access point, and the power light on the card is lit. These make me believe
that it isn't a problem with the nic. The built-in ethernet (eth0) works
fine.

Does anyone have any advice on next steps to resolve this?

TIA,
