Sorry, I took this off list because.. .well, I'm not sure why, guess my fear of
looking foolish.
In that case, it's probably that the USB CF drive isn't recognised by linux..
I've had this problem before, it's not uncommon. I recommend going to froogle
(or store of choice) and searching for "IDE Compact Flash Adapter". I see some
on froogle in the $7-$11 range. They do require a floppy drive power
connector, if that's a problem.
Your other option involved debugging the usb-storage kernel module and find out
whats wrong. Much more rewarding, but not for the faint of heart (or those
under a time limit).
