You are asking for a similar functionality to RSS reader. You could use one
of the RSS reader source code and develop your own OR you could write an
enhancement to a HTTP parser and get your info. Infact, if you do a search
for "Linux" on news.google.com <http://news.google.com>, you would get a
whole lot of listing and you could subscribe to RSS right there. I dont know
how RSS works internally, but I think that it is similar to what you are
looking for.
