I've used SlickEdit for about 4 years now.  It's very good for Java, C, and 
C++ programming.  It has great syntax highlighting and tags for a number of 
languages.  Unfortunately, it's not as well equipped for for Python, but it's 
tolerable.  Also, it's not free.  Check it out at www.slickedit.com.  There 
are several different versions: one that integrates into Eclipse, a 
standalone version, and one that integrates into VS2005.  On the whole, it's 
a great program.
