For Reference, here is your first reply to this thread.
Clearly you made an assumption. The wrong one. And you posted a most
un-Consultant-like response.
These days, when you hear the regex 4(\.[12])? next to the name Red Hat,
you can be sure that it is Enterprise Linux that is being talked about.
It all comes down to this:
What are the chances that she is speaking correctly and means Ancient
4.1? versus
What are the chances that she is speaking incorrectly and means RHEL 4U1?
Yes, other people botched this too. But they don't have "Consultant"
attached to their names. And thyey didn't post a smart-a$$ answer back
either.
Do you think that after your response Ms. Joan would likely turn to you
for help? Do you think that your ceaseless arguing over such a trivial
point is a very Consultant-like think to do?
It's not enough to be Technically Savvy. Consultants also need to be
Diplomatic. It also helps to be able to Read People.
For the record, assuming your web page is accurate, I think that you
probably know your stuff. But you need to work on the other aspects of
Consulting. That what I mean about not being impressed.
JIM
P.S. I am not Consulting, so I get to Speak Freely :)
