Most distros will let you install Postfix, if they don't already have
it. Configuring it is eazy (editing a text file), but it sounds like
you're kinda new at it. Grab the Postfix book from O'Reilly, and page
through it. Also, please PLEASE have someone from here double-check.
If you're doing a new server for your work, you will need to lock it
down tight, or else the FBI will be at your door asking why there's a
hacker going through your system.
